Sony which is known for its Xperia range of water proof smartphones has come up with its new Xperia M4 Aqua priced at Rs 24,990 in India on 26 May.
As the name itself tells us, the Xperia M4 Aqua is a water proof smartphone which comes with the highest IP (Ingress Protection) rating in a smartphone category – IP65/68.
The smartphone is said to withstand both splashes and submersion, which means that users can take the phone for a dip in the swimming pool up to 5 feet under water for nearly 30 minutes.
However, as we know, the waterproof makes sense provided that the phone’s ports are covered by the flaps that come with the package.
It also makes sense that Sony introduced this smartphone just before the monsoons hit India and the smartphone is said to be available from today in Black, White and Coral colour options.
The other specs of the new Xperia M4 Aqua are the second generation 64-bit class based Snapdragon 615 OCta-Core SoC by Qualcomm, 2GB DDR3 RAM, 2,400 mAh battery which can run the phone for up to 13 hours talk time and 779 hours under standby mode.
Also, the smartphone comes with 13 MP primary camera with Sony Exmor RS sensor, LED flash and 5 MP front camera.
Another plus point of the smartphone is that it comes with 4G LTE connectivity support making it a stiff competition for the other smartphones like Xiaomi Mi 4i, Micromax Yu Yureka, Motorola Moto G (2 Gen) and the recently launched Meizu M1 Note and ZTE Nubia Z9 Mini.
However, the only drawback we feel is the price of the smartphone which may force many users choose the other alternatives rather than a water proof body!
