Cab aggregator Ola announced Monday that its mobile wallet, Ola Money, will be soon enabled as a payment method on Oyo Rooms, Lenskart, Saavn, Zopper, BusIndia, and Zoomin. This follows the company’s forays into food and grocery delivery with Ola Café and Ola Store earlier this year.
With Ola Money, customers can use the wallet’s one-touch checkout experience outside the Ola platform, taking away the hassle of one time passwords and multi-layer authentications, and benefit from promotions in the form of cashbacks and discounts from merchants in the initial phase of rollout, the company said. The company claimed to be one of the top three mobile wallets in the country by transaction volume, with over 20 million customers on its platform.
“By taking this experience to more merchants, we are enabling our users to do more with Ola Money and helping merchants gain access to one of the most convenient payment experiences we know of today.” said Rushil Goel, Head – Ola Money in an emailed statement.
The integration was not was live on Android in the latest update of Oyo Rooms at the time of filing. A company spokesperson said that the version will be pushed out soon.
In recent moves in the mobile wallets space, Paytm clocked 100 million users, and RBI approved 11 entities to set up Payment Banks in India.
