After launching the Nokia 4.2 (Review) in India earlier this month, HMD Global has now brought the Nokia 3.2 to the country. First announced at MWC 2019, the Nokia 3.2 is a budget smartphone that slots just below the Nokia 4.2. It highlights a large waterdrop display along with stock Android 9 Pie, a two-day battery life and a couple of unique buttons that includes an LED notification light power button and Google Assistant button, among other things.
The Nokia 3.2 price in India starts at Rs 8,990 for the 2GB + 16GB storage variant. It also comes in a 3GB + 32GB option that comes at a recommended best buy price of Rs 10,790. The Nokia 3.2 will be available in Black and Steel colour options across top mobile retail stores in India and via Nokia.com/phones starting Thursday, May 23.
HMD has also announced a few offers on the Nokia 3.2. Firstly, Vodafone and Idea subscribers purchasing the Nokia 3.2 will get a Rs 2,500 instant cashback in the form of 50 vouchers of Rs 50 each. These vouchers can be redeemed on recharges of Rs 199 and above. Customers purchasing the device through HDFC Bank Credit or Debit cards on EMI or regular transaction can also avail 10 per cent cashback. This offer will be available at retail outlets from May 23 to June 15. Lastly, consumers can also use promo code “LAUNCHGIFT” to receive a gift card of Rs 1,000 on purchasing the Nokia 3.2 via Nokia.com/phones. Additionally, consumers will also get a free one-time screen-replacement for a six-month period.
Nokia 3.2 specifications
The Nokia 3.2 is the second phone after the Nokia 4.2 to bring a droplet-style notch, allowing for a full-screen display. The handset sports a 6.26-inch HD+ (1520×720) TFT LCD display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and a 2.5D curved glass protection. The Nokia 3.2 is a fairly large handset measuring 159.44 x 76.24 x 8.60 mm and weighing 181 grams. It gets a plastic unibody shell on the back that comes in Black and Steel colours.
The latest Nokia smartphone packs a Snapdragon 429 chipset paired with 2GB or 3GB of RAM. It is offered with up to 32GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 400GB via a dedicated microSD card slot. There is a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and the Nokia 3.2 also supports face unlock.
The Nokia 3.2 is the most affordable phone to come with a dedicated Google Assistant button. The idea is to offer a quick and convenient way to access the Google AI. A simple tap of the button will bring up Assistant even on lock screen. The Nokia 3.2 also gets a notification light power button like the Nokia 4.2. The power button lights up upon receiving a missed call or unread message.
The budget Android One smartphone ships with a clean and stock Android 9 pie software with all its features such as gesture-based navigation, Adaptive Brightness, Adaptive Display and Digital Wellbeing, among others. It gets a single 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
HMD Global is promises a two-day battery life with the Nokia 3.2 as it houses a large 4,000mAh capacity. The charging will take place over a microUSB port and you will get a 10W charger with the box. Connectivity options include WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, aptX and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
