JEE Main is a national level entrance test conducted by the NTA (National Testing Agency) twice a year. JEE Main 2019 counselling and seat allotment for all the qualified and eligible candidates will be conducted by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). The counselling will be started online in the 2nd week of June 2019.
JEE Main Counselling and Seat Allotment are conducted on the basis of candidate’s merit, choice preference, and availability of seats. In the seat allotment, JoSAA will first allot the seats in two mock rounds. On the basis of the choices filled in JEE Main, mock rounds help the candidates to know about the seats. When mock rounds of seat allotment are over, seven main rounds of seat allotment will be conducted for students.
Candidates can either opt for January or April JEE Main 2019 exam or they can appear in both of them. The best score out of the two will be taken into consideration. For January exam, the application form is available from September 1 to 30, 2018.

Procedure of JEE Main Counselling & Seat Allotment 2019
To participate in JEE Main 2019 counselling and seat allotment, follow the mentioned steps below:
Step1. Online Registration
To participate in counselling and seat allotment for JEE Main 2019, candidates will have to get registered online to JoSAA by using their roll number and password. Fill all the registration details carefully and after this click on the “Confirm Registration” button.
Step 2. Choice Filling and Locking
On the basis of preference of the college, fill and lock the choices. Candidates must fill maximum choices for the seat allotment. Based on the choices filled, seat allotment will be done.
Step 3. Seat Allotment
As per the filled choices, availability of seats, and merit, candidates will be allotted seats. Before the final seat allotment, the mock allotment is done in two rounds in which candidates are enabled to know and choose better preferences for themselves.

To confirm the seat, candidates will have to pay the fees through SBI Net Banking or e-challan. Fees for Reserved categories will be Rs.20, 000/- and for General categories will be Rs45, 000/-.
Step 5. Verification of Documents
The documents will be verified by the candidates at help centers. The following documents need to be verified:
- 3 passport size photographs
- Provisional JoSAA seat allotment letter
- Photo identity card
- Proof of seat acceptance fee payment
- JEE Main 2019 Admit card
- Date of Birth proof
- JEE Main 2019 scorecard
- Class 12th Mark sheet
- Category certificate
Step 6. Final Reporting to Allotted Institute
After verification, candidates will have to report at the allotted institute and pay the fees to confirm admission.
Special Round Counselling
A special round of counselling is conducted for NITs, IITs, and GFTIs. It is for the candidates who have successfully completed JEE Main 2019 examination and secured valid scores.
