Huawei didn’t unveil its upcoming P9 at the recent Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona. Instead, it’s been left to a tipster to spill the beans and reveal details and images of the Chinese mobile maker’s new smartphone.
The big draw here is unquestionably the P9’s dual camera set up. Leaked images clearly show that the upcoming device has a pair of cameras round the back.
The insider, who has revealed all anonymously, says that each one has a 12 megapixel Leica lens, with Huawei planning to offer a string of unique imaging features, such as refocusing after capture, when it officially reveals the handset at some point in the first half of 2016.
Word is that the P9 will come packing an octacore processor, clocked at high and low power for different tasks, 3GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 32, 64 and 128GB.
The battery is also set to be boosted to a 3900 mAh effort, far bigger than that found in the latest high end smartphones from major rivals such as Samsung and Apple.
The P9 is set to be the flagship device of the new P series range, which will include four smartphones in total. However, if you want a phone to stand out from the crowd, it seems as if the P9 will be the only one to go for.
