A Brunswick County spot is among one of the nation’s best secluded places for adventurous travelers to have a meal.
Mojo’s on the Harbor, located on Bald Head Island, made USA Today’s recent list of 10 unique restaurants that can’t be reached by car.
Once you take the ferry to the little village on the east side of the Cape Fear River, there are also no cars allowed on the island. Island-goers must instead rely on bicycles, golf carts or their feet to get around, an aspect USA Today said added to the charm of Mojo’s, which caters to residents, visitors, day-trippers and just-passing-through boaters alike.
Situated at the marina–and offering views from every angle of Old Baldy Lighthouse–Mojo’s is one of the island’s few gathering spots, serving up a variety of selections, from fresh seafood to sushi.
The diverse menu and out-of-the-way locale–as well as its family-friendly, community atmosphere–helped land Mojo on the list with the likes of eateries only reachable by gondola, sleigh, snowmobile, horseback and wagon.
