First, you need to get a list of all your competitors on the internet. Once you’ve compiled this list, either directly, or through the help of a virtual assistant, the next step is to see if your competitors have a presence on YouTube and TikTok. The best-case scenario is when your competitor has a channel on YouTube and has a solid presence on TikTok. Don’t count on it though.
Oftentimes, most of your competitors would be found on YouTube and maybe only a few, if at all, are present on TikTok. Don’t let that freak you out. Once you find their channels, take a look at what they talk about. In other words, pay close attention to the themes of their videos.

Once you’re able to do that comes the hard part. You’re basically going to have to produce video after video of topics that you know have a high level of interest in your niche. Now, what makes this situation difficult is that you’re going to be stuck with a chicken or egg problem.
For you to build a following for your video, you have to have a lot of viewers. For you to have a lot of viewers, they have to know that your TikTok channel exists. What if you’re starting with zero? Or your starting with a small trickle of traffic? This is where social proof comes in.
Most people would not agree to this, but a lot of people will only watch a YouTube video if they see that it already has thousands of views. At the back of their minds they’re thinking, why should I waste my precious time watching a video that very few people have bothered to watch?
