At its Jailbreak event in India today, Micromax launched the newest member of its Canvas family, the Canvas Sliver 5. The brand is claims that its latest flagship is the world’s slimmest smartphone with its 5.1mm end-to-end waistline which is completely devoid of bumps. In comparison, the previous record holder, the 4.7mm thin Coolpad Ivvi K1 Mini features a camera bump that increases its overall slimness.
The Canvas Sliver 5 is extremely lightweight at 98g. The device is made out of aircraft-grade aluminium, and comes with a matte finish at the back. The phone sports a 4.8-inch AMOLED HD display, and runs Android Lollipop out of the box. The smartphone utilises a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with 64-bit computing, and supports 4G LTE networks. For storage, it gets 2GB of RAM and 16GB of non-expandable storage.
The camera department includes a 5MP front snapper and an 8MP rear shooter with an LED flash, a CMOS sensor, and a Blue Glass filter. Other features include single SIM slot, a 2,000mAh battery and Dirac HD sound.
The Micromax Canvas Sliver 5 has been priced at Rs 17,999, and will be available in black and white hues. The brand has introduced a new service policy that will offer home pickup/delivery, with the phone returned after service within seven days. Micromax also announced that Huge Jackman will return as the company’s brand ambassador for the Canvas Sliver 5.
