Coaching academics will soon be established across the state by the Tamil Nadu government for candidates who wish to appear for the civil service examinations. The announcement regarding the same was made by the State education minister, K A Sengottaiyan, on Sunday in Erode.
As per Indian Express report, Sengottaiyan, at a function near Thindal village, said, “To help those appearing for Indian Administrative Service (IAS) or Indian Police service (IPS) examinations, the state education department will soon start coaching academies in all the 32 districts.”
He added that aspirants from poor and middle class backgrounds will benefit the most from this initiative as it will give them means to practice, clear and secure good ranks in these examinations which are conducted annually by organisations like the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) or the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC).

The UPSC will be conducting civil services main examination between October 28 and November 3 at various test centres across the nation. Admit cards for the same have been released on the official website.
The Civil Services Examination is being conducted in two successive stages:
- Preliminary (objective type) for the selection of candidates for the main examination
- Civil Services (Main) Examination (written and interview) for the selection of candidates for the various services and posts announced
