If your Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 edge is of the T-Mobile persuasion, a software update is headed your way. As we recently discovered, both models should be Graced with some of the Note 7’s features upon the eventual S7 Nougat roll-out. For the meantime, however, these Marshmallow updates for baseband versions G930TUVU4APIA and G935TUVU4APIA bring the September Android security patch to users in a timely fashion.
The T-Mo updates also include a few bug fixes and general performance enhancements. Sure, it’s not particularly exciting from a feature standpoint, but if you do own the Galaxy S7 or S7 edge on T-Mobile, this is nevertheless a care package that you’ll want to grab with both hands. To do so, you can fire up the Settings app on your handset and navigate to About Device to see if the OTA is ready for your handset.
We recently learned that Samsung has one or two tricks up its sleeve with the futureAndroid 7.0 Nougat update to the S7 duo. The Galaxy Note 7’s Grace UX is a newer alternative to TouchWiz, and apparently, Galaxy S7 and S7 edge owners will be invited to that particular party with Android 7.0. Additionally, the Note 7’s more capable Always-on Display should make its way over to Sammy’s smaller flagship models in the near future.
