The ZUK Edge smartphone has been leaked on several occasions before now. We’ve seen a couple of photos and press renders showcasing the handset in white and now — as you can see above — a decent live snap of the ZUK Edge in black has emerged.
Having been certfied by TENAA — China’s version of the FCC — we have a fairly reliable idea of the specs set to grace the ZUK Edge. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 chip looks poised to provide the processing power, alongside 4 GB RAM and 32 / 64 GB of on-board storage. Elsewhere, there’s expected to be a 5.5-inch FHD display, a 13-megapixel main camera with an 8-megapixel sensor on the front, and a serviceable 3000 mAh battery capacity.
A number of predominantly China-based companies have recently declared war on smartphone bezels in an almost concerted fashion. Now ZUK — one of Lenovo’s numerous subsidiaries — appears to be joining a party that has gained traction following the introduction of the Xiaomi Mi MIX.
A nice-looking handset with a seemingly decent array of internal hardware, it’s set to arrive this week at a cost of $390. On-paper specs don’t make an experience alone, but if the ZUK Edge is as refined as we’d expect given the high-end innards, it could be a promising release indeed. \
