It’s official: The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be unveiled in late August, and it’s scheduled to launch in September and October in two waves.
This news comes straight from the head honcho of the South Korean brand’s CEO DJ Koh, aligning with a previous report that says the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 will be revealed on Aug. 23.

Galaxy Note 8 Release Date Nears
In an interview and a Q and A session with the media in Taiwan (via ePrice), Koh confirmed the Galaxy Note 8’s release date and the company’s launch plans.
First things first, as mentioned earlier, Samsung is set to take the wraps off the device in late August, but just to be clear, it won’t be available by that time just yet.
Koh continued to say that the Galaxy Note 8 will roll out in two phases. The first one will kick off in September, with the U.S., the UK, and South Korean markets to get the phablet the soonest. Meanwhile, the global launch is scheduled one month later in October.
Other Galaxy Note 8 Rumors, Leaks
Leading up to the official release, Galaxy Note 8 rumors and leaks have been cropping up here and there, and they’ve been spelling out some good news and bad news.
Arguably grasping at straws, the position of the Galaxy Note 8’s fingerprint scanner will be slightly better than the Galaxy S8’s. Instead of sitting right beside the rear camera sensors, the LED flash is expected to be in between the rumored dual-camera setup and the reader. That should somewhat keep users from accidently leaving smudges on the rear-facing cameras.
In a perfect world, Samsung could’ve worked out the under-display fingerprint scanner, but that didn’t pan out due to brightness issues with the Super AMOLED panel.
Now the Galaxy Note 8 is said to house top-of-the-line components, including but not limited to a Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895 and 6 GB worth of RAM. That setup comes at a cost, though — a $1,000 starting price, to be exact.
Interestingly enough, that’s more or less in the same ballpark as the iPhone 8, which is allegedly going to have a $1,200 starting price.
Long story short, there’s no shortage when it comes to details regarding the Galaxy Note 8, but the rumors and leaks don’t exactly hold much weight to them because they’re unconfirmed tidbits, after all.
Still, they do manage to paint a picture of how the phablet could turn out to be, but at any rate, we’re about to see the Galaxy Note 8 in the flesh as soon as August.
