Despite the fact that Google rolled out the Android Oreo update recently, there are still devices that didn’t get the previous Android 7.1.1 Nougat update. That is also the case for Nokia 3. Nevertheless, the update has finally been approved for the Nokia 3 and Juho Sarvikas, the Chief Product Officer at HMD, confirmed that on Twitter. Nokia smartphones will get support for Android OS update for two years from its launch, according to HMD.
The Android 7.1.1 Nougat update will start rolling out soon
A while ago, Juho Sarvikas declared that the latest Android Nougat version will become available for Nokia 3 by the end of August. Whule there is a small delay since we are already in September, it is good to see that Nokia 3 will finally get the new features and improvements. Apparently, the delay for the Nokia 3 Android 7.1.1 was because of MediaTek, the chip maker.
When will Android 8.0 Oreo come to Nokia 3?
Finally receiving the Android 7.1.1 Nougat version might not be that great for you now that Google just launched Oreo. If you are willing to try out the latest OS you will have to wait a bit more. Since the update has been release recently, you will probably wait for another few months until it will be finally approved for Nokia.
