Apple’s latest mobile operating system, iOS 9, has been jailbroken. The hack comes from the same Chinese team Pangu that has been developing jailbreaking tools for quite some time now, and it works on devices running iOS 9 through 9.0.2.
If you’re planning to jailbreak your iOS 9 device, then you’ll have to use a Microsoft Windows machine to do so as the tool currently involves a Windows-only installer. However, as has been the case previously, a similar installer for Mac will eventually be available we assume.
Another thing worth mentioning is that the tool allows you to perform an “untethered” jailbreak, which means that you do not have to plug your device into your PC
