“BlackBerry has built its trademark on strong security and power productivity features. The modern user will have the opportunity to experience all of those traits, including a high-definition camera, clear display and distinctive design. Together with TCL Communication, we have incorporated our expertise into every layer of this new and improved smartphone, so the BlackBerry DNA remains in place,” said Luis Kovalsky, BlackBerry Director for LATAM.
Distinctly BlackBerry
The BlackBerry KEYone redesigns communication with a Smart Keyboard that responds to touch gestures the same way as the BlackBerry trackpad. Web browsing, reading, and typing are made smoother and more intuitive with the Smart Keyboard, which makes each interaction with a work document, business presentation or e-mail even faster and more efficient, always betting on improving productivity.
Distinctly Different
Tucked into an anodized aluminum frame and soft-touch textured back, this new BlackBerry smartphone is built to offer the best in durability while still remaining easy on the eyes. Featuring a 4.5-inch display (1620×1080 resolution / 434 PPI 3:2 aspect ratio) with Corning ® Gorilla® Glass 4 that offers greater impact and scratch resistance, the BlackBerry KEYone counts with a touch display that takes advantage of every inch for the user’s visual experience, without losing surface space in the keyboard when incorporating an independent physical keyboard to give users more useable space for typing than any other completely touch smartphone. The device also features a 12MP (1.55μm large pixel) rear camera and is 100% powered by Android Nougat 7.1, permitting the download of all kinds of applications without restrictions.
Distinctly Secure
What really sets a BlackBerry smartphone apart from any other Android device are the enhanced security features built into every device right from the start. From a hardened operating system to BlackBerry Limited’s proprietary technique for establishing a hardware root of trust adding security keys to the processor, the BlackBerry KEYone is intentionally designed to offer the most secure Android smartphone experience possible. This all-new BlackBerry comes pre-loaded with DTEK™ by BlackBerry, offering constant security monitoring and protection of your operating system. The BlackBerry KEYone will also receive regular monthly Android security updates, ensuring you have the most safe and secure Android smartphone experience.
Distinctly Productive
Powered by a Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 625 processor with an Adreno 506 GPU, the new device has an efficient, longer battery life, with high LTE speeds for super-fast file sharing. Plus, Qualcomm’s Quick Charge™ 3.0 technology also makes it possible for the 3505 mAh battery – the largest ever in a BlackBerry device – to receive 50 percent of its charging capacity in just 36 minutes, charging much faster.
Users will also have easy access to their information thanks to the preloaded BlackBerry Hub, which brings all messages into one consolidated place; including emails, texts and messages from any social media account to easily manage multiple accounts without switching between apps.
This smartphone has expanded the availability of security-focused mobile devices that users have come to know and trust from BlackBerry. The BlackBerry KEYone will be available in the coming weeks, unlocked for approximately $600 and with the main local carriers with competitive plans.
