BlackBerry will finally launch the most-awaited KEYone in India today. BlackBerry KEYone is a phone that is manufactured by BlackBerry’s new hardware partner – TCL. Unlike the earlier BlackBerry phones, KEYone has a bigger display onboard.
The smartphone was first announced at the Mobile World Congress 2017, back in the month of February. KEYone comes with the typical BlackBerry physical keyboard. “Do more. Different” is the tagline that BlackBerry users to present KEYone. The phone is perhaps very different from the past BlackBerry phones we have come across.
The companies sent out press invite for the launch last week, but didn’t mention any details on the pricing front. However, as per assumption, the BlackBerry KEYone will be priced under Rs 40,000. To recall, BlackBerry KEYone was launched at a price tag of $549.
The phone comes with its QWERTY keypad, which BlackBerry phones are famous for. The specifications of the phone are already known to us. BlackBerry KEYone features a 4.5-inch screen with FullHD (1080) display. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 processor which is further coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The internal storage capacity can be further expandable up to to 2TB via microSd card slot.

The phone runs on Android Nougat customised with BlackBerry’s security-related. While on the camera front, the BlackBerry phone features a 12-megapixel camera and an 8-megapixel front facing camera with F2.2 aperture lens. The rear camera as the company claims includes an image sensor behind the camera has large pixels, which may help the phone click good photos even in low light conditions.
BlackBerry KEYone is backed by a 3,505 mAh battery which comes paired with quick charging ability. BlackBerry calls the feature “boost,” which puts the phone in battery saving mode while charging, so that it charges even faster.
There are no confirmed details about the price and availability of the phone yet, but the company is set to announce the same at the launch event today which is to take place at 11AM in New Delhi.
