We happen to know a few things about the unannounced Motorola Moto M. For example, we know that the handset is code named “Kung Fu” and has a model number of XT1662. In addition, some Microsoft apps like Skype, Microsoft Office and OneDrive will be pre-loaded on the phone. That is the result of a cross licensing pact between Motorola owner Lenovo and Microsoft.
Today, two new pictures of the Moto M have come to light. Aluminum clad, the back of the handset calls to mind something out of HTC’s camp, especially with the two antenna lines on the rear of the phone. A 16MP rear-facing camera is on board, along with an 8MP front-facing selfie snapper. A finger print scanner lies directly underneath the camera and flash module.
The Moto M is expected to come with a 5.5-inch screen carrying a 1080 x 1920 resolution. Powering the handset is a MediaTek MT6755 SoC equipped with an octa-core 2.1GHz CPU, and the Mali-T860 MP2 GPU. 4GB of RAM is inside, along with 32GB of flash memory. The phone depends on its 3000mAh battery to keep the lights on, and Android 6.0 is pre-installed.
This is the first Moto device to sport a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, and the “Moto” name is located on the front of the model near the bottom. Reportedly, there are two variants of the Moto M; one will launch in China and the other will have a release in other Asian markets.
