As we inch closer to MWC, we already have a fair idea on what to expect from theXiaomi Mi 5. We have seen the smartphone from all possible angles, and have also come across the homescreen that confirmed a couple of important features. Now,Xiaomi’s President Bin Lin has shared on Wiebo what appears to be the first camera samples from the upcoming flagship smartphone.
The photos shared by Lin have been shot on an unknown beach, and show a bird in flight. The photos (via GizmoChina) contain quite a bit of details, and colors are bright, yet natural too. What’s impressive though is the subject of the photographs. Capturing a bird in flight not only requires image stabilization but also fast focus. Looking at the photos, we can assume that the Mi 5′s camera will be accompanied by optical image stabilization and laser autofocus.
These details fall in line with earlier reports that we have come across. The Mi 5 is expected to boast a 16-megapixel primary camera, and an 8-megapixel selfie camera up front.
Xiaomi Mi 5 specifications and features: As per reports Xiaomi could be launching the Mi 5 in two different design variants – one in metal and another with a 2.5D curved glass on the back and front. The metal variant is expected to come in 32GB and 64GB storage options, featuring 3GB and 4GB of RAM respectively, and a 1080p display. The glass variant, on the other hand, is expected to feature QHD display, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB and 64GB storage variants.
While it is still early days, there have also been reports of a Windows 10 variant, as well as phablet variant called Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus flaunting a 5.7-inch display.
As for the rest of the specifications, the Mi 5 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor. It is also expected to feature a 3,600mAh battery, fingerprint scanner, IR Blaster, fingerprint scanner, connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, and NFC.
