Ahead of Sony’s September 2 event, the upcoming flagship smartphone has been reportedly leaked accidentally by the company in in press renders. Additionally, reliable online tipster @evleaks has tipped that there might be three new models unveiled at Sony’s IFA event next week – namely, the Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, and Xperia Z5 Premium. Leaked images of Premium variant of the Xperia Z5 have been also emerged on the Internet.
Sony Mobile’s social media channels unintentionally posted images of the Sony Xperia Z5, Xperia Blog reports, and the images were soon pulled down. In the leaked images, the yet-to-be-announced Xperia Z5 is seen in its full glory with a 23-megapixel rear camera and f1/2.3-inch Exmor RS sensor. The back panel images of the handset shows Sony and Xperia logo branding embossed in the middle while one side also houses an Xperia moniker. The Xperia Z5 can be expected to be unveiled in Gold, White and Dark Turquoise colours, according to the leaked press renders.
In a separate leak, Evan Blass aka @evleaks indicates that Sony may reveal more than one variant of its Xperia Z5 at IFA. In a tweet, @evleaks shared a post from Sony Georgia that claimed there will be an Xperia Z5 Premium launch alongside the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact. However, it turned out that the Sony account was a fake one.
Giving credence to the speculation of three different variants of the Xperia Z5, an Italian site has published images of alleged Sony Xperia Z5 Premium (also likely to be named as Xperia Z5+). While the leaked images doesn’t give away much in terms of design as they are covered in a protective case; though the site claims that the Xperia Z5 Premium will feature a different set of innards. Some of the rumoured specifications tipped by the site include a 5.5-inch 4K display, also tipped for the Xperia Z5+, which if comes out to be true will be the first phone to sport a 4K display.
