She has over 27 million Instagram followers, but Kendall Jenner thinks social media is “kind of sad”.
The 19-year-old Keeping Up with the Kardashians star gave a damning review of social media use in an interview with The Sunday Times over the weekend.
“I think social media has taken over for our generation,” the model said.
“It’s a big part of our lives and it’s kind of sad.”

Kendall added that sometimes her social media profiles were too much for her to deal with.
“I hate it sometimes, like, I literally want to throw my phone so I can’t look at it,” she said.
“It’s all a made-up world if you think about it. Social media, everything, this interview, everything. It’s not real. It’s pretty crazy.”
Kendall Jenner, who has walked the runway for Chanel and Givenchy, is one of a growing number of “Insta-famous” fashion models.
A league which includes the likes of Gigi and Bella Hadid, Cara Delevingne and Karlie Kloss, the “Insta-famous” model is courted by fashion houses not for their measurements, but for their follower count, in the belief that models with high social media traction are more likely to drive sales, particularly to younger markets.
While Kendall revealed she was depressed by the world of Instagram and Twitter, Kylie appeared to have a different source of anxiety.
“I’m scared of the day I turn 19,” the baby of the Kardashian clan revealed. “I really don’t want to grow past 18.”
Kylie then turned to her sister to say, “You’ll be 20 this year – that’s crazy. And any second you’ll be, like, 21, 22, 23 …”
“It’s scary,” Kendall agreed. “Life is scary.”
The youngest Kardashian’s aversion ageing is particularly interesting given how many of her friends seem to be older than herself.
The teenager is currently dating 25-year-old rapper Tyga (real name: Michael Ray Nguyen-Stevenson), but she and Kendall are also good friends with Justin Bieber, who celebrated his 21st birthday earlier this year.
Between them, the Jenner sisters have over 50 million Instagram followers. In 2014, Time magazine named them among the year’s 25 most influential teens.
Kendall was nearly 12 when the E! network reality show, which follows the lives of their parents, Kris and Bruce Jenner, and stepsiblings, Kourtney, Kim, Khloe and Rob Kardashian, first went to air in 2007. Kylie was 10.
The tenth season of the show, which finished airing overnight, has been a particularly personal one for the sisters, as they have learnt their father is transitioning to a woman.
In a recent two-part special titled About Bruce, they were shown reacting to their father’s news.
“I think it’s just scary,” Kendall cried in one emotional scene. “When someone says Bruce is going to be gone and you’re not going to be you anymore. You just make it feel that way.”
Bruce, 65, reassured his daughters saying, “I’m not going anywhere. I’m still going to be there for you and everybody.”
