LG is certain that the G4 is better than the Samsung Galaxy S6$679.92 at T-Mobile, and it’s got the science to prove it. But for all of the technical jargon the company pushes, from quantum dots to color spectrum sensors, its latest smartphone feels underwhelming on a visceral level. In a mobile world with performance parity among high-end devices, look and feel matter tremendously. The G4’s Quad HD LCD is stunning, and camera performance is excellent, but neither is categorically best in class. And even with a new leather trim, LG can’t quite capture the same high-end desirability that competitors like Apple, HTC, and even Samsung have mastered. Science may be on LG’s side, but the G4 falls just short of the Galaxy S6.
